With regard to the health problems caused by so many Americans overweight, such as diabetes and sleep apnea, we must be more conscious of what we eat and what we eat healthy, be considered. There was a time in America when Mom'shomemade apple pies and cakes were a treat to eat you once in a while, or if you're lucky, once a week on Sunday. Now mass produced sweets and cakes are almost able to go everywhere. Some Americans are in a swamp filled with donuts, cookies and Ring Dings for breakfast, lunch and dinner, then wash them all with a Dr. Pepper.

Soo Jeung Ga
2 liters of water
1 / 2 cup fresh ginger, cut into thin slices
3 cinnamon sticks
1 1 / 2 cups of raw cane sugar
1 cup dried persimmons, cut into slices
1 / 2 cup pine nuts
In a saucepan combine the water, ginger and cinnamon and let simmer for 1 / 2 hours. Remove from heat and strain the liquid. Stir in the sugar and Kaki. Cool and leave overnight in the refrigerator. Serve well chilled with one or two small iceCubes and a teaspoon of pine nuts floating in each cup.
